A brand-new SENNEBOGEN 830 D-Series with Vario Tool has been doing sterling service at Munich-based Gebr. Schulz GmbH for some months now.

The company, which was founded by Hans Max Schulz in 1948, steadily built up its metal and scrap business in its initial years of existence. Gert Rainer Schulz then branched out into dealing in steel piles in 1977. The two divisions trading in steel and scrap have proved a great success and are today flourishing business segments of their own.

The 830 D-Series featuring Vario Tool has won over Schulz GmbH in everyday service thanks to the maximum flexibility offered with grab and shears. Its tasks not only include shredding items such as steel supports, piping and machine parts with the shears, but also material handling with the orange peel grab. Simple, fast changeover of attachments within just 2 minutes ensures highly efficient usage of the machine. With the 830 Vario Tool the right implement is always ready for use in record time. The Vario-Tool can cover the work of up to four machines - in addition to the shears and orange peel grab, a sorting grab and magnet for lifting loads are also available.

Attachments can be conveniently changed at the touch of a button without by the driver having to leave his cab. They can then be simply set down on the ground - an enormous benefit in terms of speed and safety. The unique coupling mechanism featuring a 12 mm steel plate ensures a leakage-free, wearless connection as well as optimum protection from dirt and dust whether coupled or not. Maximum safety is guaranteed by 3-fold centring of the connection between the jaw and insert. Acoustic signals assist the operator and result in perfect locking.

But it is not just Vario Tool that has won over driver Frank Forker: "Machine handling is excellent even when space is tight at the yard. I'm really impressed by the stability as well. That's particularly important on uneven terrain if work is to go smoothly and safely. The workmanship of the machine is also excellent, and the cab extremely comfortable. Overall I only have positive things to say about this machine". The stable undercarriage featuring an end-to-end middle bridge and reinforced support cylinders really pays for itself - likewise the redesigned upper structure with its spacious maXcab comfort cab.
